The purpose of my writing is just to put on record my appreciation for a fine looking building – from the moment I saw the lower stages of the frame being erected I knew that it was a worthwhile project.P Griffith-Jones, Marlborough, Wiltshire
Design Manager and Conservation Adviser
Having successfully run his own cabinet making and furniture restoration business in Highgate, London, Piers moved to the west country in 1997. Having specialised in arts and crafts furniture he was inspired by the work of Sidney Barnsley in the timber-framed library at Bedales College in Hampshire. This led him into a career as a timber framer and subsequently as a senior framer. During this period he studied at Bath University for his HNC, and then masters in the conservation of historic buildings. Piers is also an oak-frame designer at Carpenter Oak & Woodland, and is responsible for working with clients, architects and engineers to help bring their projects to fruition. He is a member of CIAT and IHBC.
