Oak framed swimming pool

There are pool buildings and there are pool buildings, few are as spectacular and majestic as those using a cruck oak frame.

Project profile

When the owners of this listed period Cotswold stone house came to add a swimming pool to their home they wanted something that lived up to the rest of the house. These big, majestic crucks have been used in timber frame construction for over 800 years and they’re still capable of bringing so much more than just a structure to a building.

This project demonstrates how modern materials and building uses can be very ably accommodated in timber framed buildings. The blend of stone with glass and timber provides an unbeatable ambiance that would be difficult to achieve in any other way.
